Thanks to local groups’ fundraising we were able to send a team up to the demonstration on Saturday 15 October outside Hassockfield Immigration Removal Centre to demand its closure. This is where women who fall foul of the new Nationality and Borders Act, and the Rwanda plan are held. We gave our first performance of a new interactive play based on women’s testimonies about why “We All Have the Right to Be Here”. Local people heard first hand from the All African Women’s Group about the injustice and cruelty women suffer in detention.
